Beneath heavy concrete covers, inside a narrow drainage channel, two tiny kittens were trapped.
A calico and a tabby—both frightened, both calling out from a place no one could easily reach.
Their world was dark, tight, and unfamiliar.
All they could do… was cry and wait.
A Rescue That Required Patience and Effort
When help arrived, it wasn’t simple.
The concrete slabs above them were heavy, and the space below was far too narrow.
Piece by piece, the team carefully removed sections to create an opening. One rescuer even squeezed inside, navigating the tight space to get closer—at times nearly getting stuck themselves.
It was slow work. Careful work.
But they didn’t stop.

Finding a Way to Reach Them
The kittens were still afraid.
So instead of rushing, the rescuers used something gentle—food.
A small amount of soft treat was offered, its scent drifting into the narrow space.
Hunger slowly overcame fear.
Little by little, the kittens moved closer.
One by One, They Were Brought Out
The first kitten—the tabby—was gently secured and lifted out.
Then, after more careful positioning and patience, the calico followed.
Each rescue took time, but each moment brought them closer to safety.
Back on Solid Ground
Once above, the kittens were given food again—this time without fear, without pressure.
Their bodies relaxed. Their cries softened.

They were no longer trapped.
A Safe Journey Forward
Afterward, both kittens were placed into a carrier—secure, calm, and protected.
For the first time, they were on their way to a place where they could rest, recover, and grow.
A Quiet Reminder of Persistence
Sometimes, rescue doesn’t happen quickly.
It takes effort, patience, and the willingness to keep trying—even when it’s difficult.
And because someone chose not to give up…
two small voices from beneath the concrete
were finally brought back into the light.
