While working at a business premises, employees heard scratching and unusual sounds coming from above the ceiling. Upon investigation, they discovered something unexpected: a family of cats had made their home in the space above, living in the darkness and hidden from sight.

The Hidden Dangers — A Kitten in Peril

As it turned out, a few mouse traps had been set up in the building, but one of the kittens, a sweet little calico, had wandered into one and gotten stuck. The poor kitten was completely immobilized, its body stuck to the glue trap, unable to move.

The rescue team, Rescue 119 from South Korea, was called to the scene. The workers had to navigate through an extremely tight ceiling space, which was filled with dust and tangled wires. The confined area posed a significant challenge for the team, and wearing protective gear, they worked carefully to free the kitten from its painful predicament.

A Delicate Approach — Removing the Glue Safely

Following the advice of a veterinarian, the team understood that pulling the kitten directly from the glue would cause serious injuries to its skin. Instead, they used cooking oil (or olive oil) to gently dissolve the glue, applying it carefully and allowing it to break down the adhesive without harming the kitten. The process was slow, requiring patience, but after some time, the kitten was finally freed.

A Safe Recovery — From Pain to Healing

Once the kitten was safely removed from the ceiling, it was immediately transported to a veterinary clinic. There, it was given a thorough bath to remove any remaining glue and oil. The veterinary team also administered fluids and food to help restore the kitten’s strength after days of starvation and exhaustion.
